About Ticket Shield Legal Services Professional Corporation

Ticket Shield is an Ontario traffic ticket defence-focused firm that has spent nearly 15 years helping drivers deal with Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, Provincial Offences Act, and driving-related court matters. Our goal is to shield clients from the stress, confusion, and long-term consequences of a traffic ticket.

We are a traffic-ticket-focused Ontario legal services firm.

Ticket Shield Legal Services Professional Corporation provides representation and assistance to drivers charged with traffic tickets and provincial offences across Ontario. For nearly 15 years, our work has centred on helping people understand their charges, protect their driving record, reduce avoidable consequences, and make informed decisions before pleading guilty.

Traffic tickets can look simple on paper, but the consequences are often more complicated than the fine. A conviction can affect insurance, demerit points, licence status, commercial driving work, employment, novice-driver sanctions, CVOR records, and future court negotiations. Our role is to look at the entire risk picture, not just the dollar amount printed on the ticket.

We strive to provide a professional experience that goes beyond simply β€œshowing up to court.” We review the facts, build a defence strategy, communicate with the court and prosecutor where appropriate, keep clients updated, and work toward the best available outcome based on the evidence and circumstances of each case.

Our mission: shield clients from the stress and burden of traffic tickets.

Most people do not deal with traffic court every day. They receive a ticket, worry about insurance, wonder whether they need to attend court, and often do not know whether paying the fine is a mistake. Our job is to make the process clearer, more manageable, and more strategic.

Protect the record

We assess how the charge may affect your abstract, insurance, demerit points, licence status, and employment before recommending a strategy.

Reduce the stress

We help clients avoid unnecessary court attendance, confusing forms, missed deadlines, disclosure issues, and uncertain prosecutor discussions.

Fight for practical outcomes

The best result depends on the case. It may be a withdrawal, dismissal, reduction, amended charge, trial, or carefully managed mitigation strategy.

How we approach traffic ticket defence

We believe traffic ticket defence should be evidence-based, consequence-aware, and honest. A good strategy starts with understanding what the prosecutor must prove, what the evidence actually shows, and what outcome would meaningfully help the client.

We review the evidence

Officer notes, witness statements, video, photos, radar or laser evidence, collision records, disclosure gaps, signage, identity, and court documents may all affect the defence.

We explain the consequences

Points matter, but they are not everything. Insurance category, suspension history, G1/G2 consequences, commercial driving, and CVOR may matter more.

We avoid empty promises

No serious representative should guarantee a result. We give case-specific feedback based on the charge, court, evidence, record, and realistic options.

Why traffic-ticket focus matters

What a proper traffic ticket review should consider

  • The exact offence wording and section number.
  • The court location and local process.
  • Disclosure, officer notes, video, photos, and witness evidence.
  • Demerit points, licence suspension, and novice-driver risk.
  • Insurance category and long-term record consequences.
  • Commercial driver, employer, fleet, and CVOR consequences.
  • Whether a reduction, withdrawal, dismissal, or trial is realistic.

What drivers often underestimate

  • Paying a ticket is often treated as a guilty plea.
  • A 0-point ticket can still affect insurance.
  • A reduced fine does not always mean a good outcome.
  • A β€œdeal” can still be harmful if the final conviction is serious.
  • Novice drivers can face consequences beyond ordinary points.
  • Commercial drivers and companies can face consequences beyond the driver’s fine.
  • Missed deadlines can lead to convictions, suspensions, or appeal problems.

my son was charged with a stunt driving offense and I was worried if my son was charged about his license suspension and the car insurance increase etc so started doing a lot of research to see who could represent my son with focus on trying to completely remove the ticket and during my research I came across Matt from ticket shield and it was the best decisions I made. I choose him because sure a lot of reviews about the approach trying to cancel the ticket rather than just making a deal and while this is not guaranteed he was successful in finding ways to completely dismiss the ticket for my son. I highly recommend him and he was very honest and transparent and kept me in the loop throughout the process. Thank you so much Matt

Ticket Shield did an excellent job representing me on two traffic tickets. They handled the matter professionally, kept me informed, and were able to have both charges completely withdrawn. No convictions, no demerit points, and no fines. I’m very grateful for their help and would recommend them to anyone needing traffic ticket representation.

I had never used a ticket agency like Ticket Shield before. Primarily because any time I had received a ticket in the past I knew I was deserving or received some break from the issuing officer. I received a ticket in April that I felt was unfair. I phoned Ticket Shield after some research and spoke to Matt a few times over a couple of days. Matt outlined the process and said I had a very good case. Nothing is guaranteed but he seemed confident and reassuring to me with this. I went with Ticket Shield and the ticket ended up being completely withdrawn. Which means my driving record is unaffected. Yes it is expensive. But if I had to do it again I would. And I would most definitely use Ticket Shield. Thanks for everything!
