Appeals and Reopenings

Can I appeal or reopen my traffic ticket after being convicted?

Maybe. There are very specific rules and requirements regarding appeals or reopenings of traffic tickets. You generally need to be within the time limitation and have adequate grounds. Contact us HERE to find out whether we can help.

What if I missed my court date?

It depends what kind of court date you missed, but it is quite likely that you were deemed not to dispute the charge and were convicted in absence. However, it is possible that the matter was adjourned to another date, so you should call the court to find out.

If you were convicted in absence, you may qualify for a Reopening. Generally these are granted when the reason nobody attended court was of no fault of your own. More serious offences may require an Appeal rather than a Reopening. Call our office to find out what options you have.
