COMMERCIAL VEHICLE OPERATOR’S REGISTRATION OFFENCES

The Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) point system is an MTO program designed to regulate and promote the safe operation of commercial vehicles on the roadways.  The system records and monitors the performance of driver’s of commercial vehicles, and assigns them a ranking.  It is important that commercial vehicle drivers, operators and carriers, are aware that these ratings and CVOR records are made available to the insurance companies, and employers.  This is why it is so crucial that you manage your safety rating, and this is something that Ticket Shield can assist you with.

The CVOR system is used to monitor traffic tickets issued to commercial motor vehicles, inspections by MTO officers for commercial vehicles, accidents involving commercial motor vehicles, assignment of CVOR points for safety-related infractions, all CVSA inspections.  CVOR violations on a commercial vehicle abstract can have a large impact on the driver’s ability to gain employment and on insurance rates.  These infractions will affect both the driver, and the safety rating for the company they drive for.

CVOR infractions remain on your record for 5 years from the date of conviction.  However, they will be used for corrective action levels for a period of 2 years from the date of conviction.

Ticket Shield is dedicated and experienced with assisting drivers, carriers and operators with CVOR violations and offences.  We understand the need to keep your commercial vehicle ranking in good standing, and can provide expert court representation to give you the best chance of avoiding CVOR points.

How will Ticket Shield help you fight your CVOR Charge?

Ticket Shield spends the necessary time on your case with the purpose of eliminating the charges completely by having them withdrawn or dismissed. If this is not possible, we will negotiate with the prosecutors to shield your demerit points, protect your license from being suspended, negotiate for the lowest fine available, and ultimately, keep your insurance rates as low as possible.

Ticket Shield begins preparing your defence with requesting a disclosure pack from the prosecutors.  We make a very specific request that requires them to provide the Police Officer’s notes, witness reports, radar manuals and calibration notes (if applicable), and any other relevant evidence that they plan to use against you.  By obtaining these documents prior to your court date, we can review them with you if we have any questions, and prepare a defence based on all of the information.
